Hi

I’ve just moved to Tring from Manchester via Cambridgeshire (where I had a gallery, etc and was involved in the arts up there in the Fens etc).

I am interested in becoming a member of your group.

As a bit of background:

I won the David Bellamy prize for sculpture a few years back, and also do photography (taken people as random as Pavarotti, Rick Astley, John Hegley). I part own a production company. I do a lot of PR consultancy work and also work in licensing (office in london). I’m working on some illustrations for two different comedy gift books at the moment (along with everything else!). Plus some visuals for a Green website, etc.

I’m doing a Drypoint course at the weekend as a friend’s studio in Cambs, so am keen to add new skills too.

I look forward to hearing from you

Best wishes

Ness

p.s. I’m interested in trying Raku, which I haven’t done yet. If Gas runs courses or does midnight firings!?

We have a new member to TVA. Her name is Sophie Wiles. She is sixteen and taking her GCSEs at school. That sounds very young but you will find her great potential when you see her website .

Welcome to Tring Visual Arts, Sophie!  See you soon!

TVA member’s meeting will be held on the first Thursday of each month. It usually start at 3 p.m. and finish 4:30 p.m. All Members and Friends of TVA (Tring Visual Arts) are expected to come and talk about our group activities.

David Metcalfe, the owner of the Green House has been very generous to allow us to use the room upstairs of his restaurant. We are really lucky to have a good supporter like him.

New Friends

We have new friends of TVA. John Bly (as some of you already know him from BBC’s Antiues Roadshow) and his Wife Virginia are now our TVA friends.

He wrote us: Virginia and I would be very proud to be Friends of TVA and hope to be able to help in a constructive way in the future.  With Warmest Wishes from us both, John.

Farewell Jackie

Dear members,

Just to let you know that I have just heard from our newest member, Jackie Henderson, that she is moving to Cornwall. I wished her well.

Best wishes,
Carole

I have been looking for a workshop place where I could hire. I would like to build a kiln and a small studio.  A small woodland on a steep hillside would be ideal for me.

Please visit my website ‘Anagama‘ and contact me if you have any helpful information.
